The aim is to provide interesting ideas to ponder during your week, as well as links to insightful content I've discovered.

You probably subscribed to this newsletter after reading my article on Universal Basic Income is Capitalism 2.0. Thanks for reading and thanks for all the feedback! I really enjoy hearing your perspectives.

If you have questions about potential downsides of UBI my friend David Vargas wrote an excellent post covering most common queries and his story of going from hating the idea to finding it extremely compelling. Scott Santens also has an amazing FAQ which answers basically every question on UBI out there.

Weekly Update

Aside from the UBI article I've published one new article this week on why I believe Social Media is restricting out creative freedom. The next generation of social apps must be open source and decentralized to avoid this problem. This was posted on my other site A Decentralized World where I focus purely on decentralized technology and how it will be useful to society, making our world better than it is today.

Greatest of all time podcast episodes

In future issues I may cover things I'm reading or listening to during the week but for this first issue I'd like to leave you with 3 of my favorite podcasts of all time - one's that I've shared and listened to multiple times because they're so fascinating and deep.

There’s more to life than profit - Ezra Klein and Yancey Strickler - This episode and Yancey's book deeply resonated with me. I love capitalism but something always felt off. This podcast put into words exactly what was wrong and how it can be fixed. Core thought: "Our society has been so thoroughly captured by the value-system of financial maximization, that we don’t even view it as such".

Joe Rogan Experience #1245 - Andrew Yang - If you're a fan of UBI you've probably heard this episode. Yang was the first politician to blow me away with his intellect and thoughtfulness and this was the first conversation to showcase that.

Tim Ferris + Seth Godin - Huge fan of both Tim and Seth and when combined they're absolutely amazing. Many times during this episode I had to stop and take notes because there were so many new interesting ideas and ways I could improve my life.

Greatest of all time Podcast

Ezra Klein is my GOAT podcast right now. If you're into deep intellectual conversations you'll probably enjoy it too. Other episodes I loved are Stripe CEO Patrick Collison, When Meritocracy wins, everybody loses and Randall Munroe, the genius behind XKCD.

Other podcasts I often listen to:

- Tim Ferris

- Yang Speaks

- Joe Rogan

- Making Sense with Sam Harris

- EconTalk with Russ Roberts

- Product Hunt Radio

- Artificial Intelligence with Lex Fridman

Until next time. I’m fascinated by everything at the intersection of Technology, Economics and Geopolitics and how it plays out 5, 10, 20 years from now.

I’ll be making predictions, many of them will be wrong, but I’ll always tell you the truth and what I honestly believe given the data available. If you ever think I’m wrong, you can tell me why, and if it makes sense I’ll incorporate your feedback into future predictions.

Why would you want to know the future?

All good investment decisions come from knowing the future better than others. Almost all successful people got there by being better at seeing and understanding future trends than their peers.

Sign up now so you don’t miss the first issue.

Subscribe now

In the meantime, tell your friends!
